Welcome to Geneome – A Senseless World Thru My Senses!
This space was re-created in wordpress on 22 Apr 2008.
Geneome is currently a jobless idler, who left his last job disillusioned and disheartened by an industry which he fell in love with during winter of 2006.
Graduating from a liberal arts background majoring in psychology and faced with the realization that he had no idea on what to do with his life, Geneome embarked on a journey of self discovery. First, enrolling himself in culinary school, he attended cuisine classes at Le Cordon Bleu in Sydney, Australia. Then, backpacked through the North and South Island of New Zealand, where he drank too much, saw plenty and did somethings he shouldn’t have (nothing that would have been considered illegal in anyway of course).
Tired with hopping from one hostel to another and sick of the mundane pleasantries exchanged between travellers, Geneome returned to his hometown of Singapore. Apprenticing at the best French restaurant in the country, he found a mentor and worked 15 hour days. Enticed on the prospects of learning on how to run a restaurant, Geneome went onto the front-of-house operations of a mid-level pasta restaurant. Moving on, he then found himself working for a F&B consultancy which specialized in restaurant concepts and commercial kitchen design.
Now what?
